It's been a while...

Well, it's testament to a busy life: no posts since October.  Teaching and being Molly's mom pretty much took over everything else.  Time for a little TV at night was about all I could muster.  I'd be in bed my 8:00 if I had the choice.

Until our 18 week appointment when the perinatalogist said that I was done with work and shouldn't go back after break.  I was shocked. I though I had at least another month at school before having to stop.  So, I attempted to rearrange my life in about two weeks. This is not easy.  I hardly had the energy to do extra work on top of the busy days I already had.  Plus, there was a quick scramble for a sub.

Thank God that a Spanish-speaking sub was found and I set out to get things organized for her.  I know there was still more to tell her, but in the short time we had before school began again it was tough.  She seems like a great teacher and I hope the kids do well with her.

So, now I'm rounding up my first week as a stay at home mom and the slower pace that I'm not used to.  And I find that I'm really enjoying it.  I can sleep longer (a big plus) and just worry about getting Molly's meals and making sure we get to preschool and dance on time.  I've also done some organizing and rearranging of the house to make room for our three.

I still have some loose ends to tie up with school and hopefully get them done soon so I don't have to think about it.  I bought fabric to create the babies' bedding and now that's my next project.  I feel like I haven't sewed for me in forever.  I'm looking forward to it.

Molly's "Babies"

Molly has declared that she also has babies in her tummy.  She has two and they are both girls, Baby Hannah and Olivia (Hannah is the name of her doll and Olivia is her favorite book/cartoon character).  She has also told us that I am having girls as well.  Evidently, Jeremy will be quite outnumbered.

To quote Jeremy when he was informed of Molly's news: "We need to talk".

Good News

For the last three weeks, we've sort of been on pins and needles because one of the babies was smaller than the other two.  Shelly, our goddess/nurse practitioner, told us it was a "watch".  Today, we got the good news that little "C" caught up and was actually slightly bigger than "A" and "B".  Whew! C's sac is still smaller than the other two's but baby is a good size.  I have three little beings in me each the size of grapes.

We also told Molly this weekend about our three and she was totally like, "Yeah, I know".  Um, no, sweetheart, you didn't know.  But, when you're three you can say whatever.

To Barf or not to Barf?

That IS the question.  I hate throwing up.  But, at least when it's the flu or something you get that 15 minutes of feeling good after throwing up.  With this pregnancy, there is no glory period.  Or, if there is, it's about 30 seconds to 1 minute.  So, does barfing help?  I wish I knew.

My new mantra is "It's all about the babies".  I'm going to keep saying it until I believe it.  If you see me mumbling to myself, you'll know why.  Especially when my face is green and I have my head in my hands.

Morning Sickness?

Yeah, right.  Morning sickness is an all-day event for me.  I've spent the last two weekends on the couch.  It takes quite the gumption to get up for work.  Minimal hair and make-up.  I'm happy to get my hair dry and dust on some powder (NOT my normal routine at all).  I pray when I go to work that I don't hurl in front of the kids.  Standing up and I are not BFF's.  I avoid it whenever possible.  My ears also plug up easily.  It's amazing how three little tic-tacs can cause such a ruckus.

Hello

After a rocky start to the pregnancy, we soon learned we will be having triplets. Yes, triplets. In a world where having multiples is on every TV show, maybe you'd think it would be no big deal. Well, we're here to tell you that it IS a big deal!
We're a normal family. We have a pre-schooler. We both work. We make ends meet. We're freaking out a little.

Hopefully, if I can keep up with it, this will be the place where I tell the story of 3+3=6.
